The K650 is a one design sportsboat created by Yum Boats. The company was set up for the development of innovative sailboats. Drawing on an in depth knowledge of the racing scene, Yum Boats worked closely in collaboration with Juan Yacht Design and Karver Systems to conceive the K650. Yum Boats run the international racing circuit and regularly invite renowned skippers to bring excitement and talent to the K650 class.

The K650 is made for all sailors who look for a new sensation on the water. It is easy to launch, equipped with reliable deck gear and built to high quality standard to be used in hard racing conditions.

Since graduating from the world renowned Yacht and Powercraft Design course at Southampton Institute, Juan Kouyoumdjian has worked in 3 America’s Cup design teams: twice with Le Défi Français, then with Prada and most recently with BMW Oracle. ABN AMRO, clear winner of the last Volvo Ocean Race proved Juan Yacht Design to be the most creative and innovative design office of the moment.

“The K650 is an outcome of the relationship we have with Karver in the AC & the Volvo and I'm very happy with this new design. Together we once asked ourselves what would be the sportsboat that we would design for ourselves and after a few sketches she was born. She combines many aspects of what we have learnt in the Volvo Ocean Race, without the canting keel since at this size stability is ensured by the crew as much as the retractable foil that makes transport very easy. She is fast but very controllable thanks to her two rudders. I cannot wait to go sailing!”
